Natasha and Vita met in high school in Sacramento and became closer friends in college. They have spent numerous hours hanging out in coffee shops and talking about everything and anything. They’ve gone on some epic road trips together. Natasha has been a constant friend and support in Vita’s life. As luck would have it, Natasha has recently moved to San Diego from Sacramento. Simon and Vita are lucky to have such a good friend close by!
Simon and Jason crossed paths thanks to a mutual friend, Mr. Abel V. Jason introduced Simon to some of the fancier dives, pubs, and parties in San Diego and they have been getting in trouble, uh..., having fun ever since. Jason now follows the hipster scene and works on robots in Houston, but from time to time nostalgically visits San Diego.
Vita met Tammy in high school as well. They got to know each other better when they worked together at a bakery (Vita's first job in high school). Tammy is a straight shooter but is also very kind and easygoing. She is a giant TV and movie buff and she can make a mean cocktail. Tammy and Vita have gone on many fun trips together – to Vegas, Hawaii and Europe. And its always a blast when Tammy visits San Diego!
Zack and Simon also met with some help from Abelardo. Zack is a professor of History and Latin-American studies in San Diego so don't play Jeopardy with him. Both Zack and Simon are super-star DJ's and have played at many venues in San Diego (even the infamous Air Conditioned Lounge). Zack and Simon have also worked together, hosting events and parties to feed the need (to party, that is).
Tatiana and Vita met in Sacramento as well around senior year in high school. Specifically it was a New Year’s party at her house. Vita remembers thinking then that Tanya and her family were some of the coolest and kindest people she'd met. It is still true. Tatiana moved to San Diego to attend UCSD and met her love – Juan – here. Tatiana and Juan were there when Simon and Vita met. And, after Vita moved to San Diego, Simon and Vita had so much fun hanging out with them, sailing, seeing shows and going to their first Coachella. Tatiana and Juan are now married and live in NYC. We are hoping one day to have them back on the west coast.
Simon met Juan & Tanya (or Tan & Juanya if you've had a couple glasses of wine) through Vita and instantly knew they were some very cool peeps =). J&T have since moved to New York City where Juan is known as one of the very few surfers in the Big Apple. When Juan is not surfing, he is sailing, and in the spare time between those, doing research and teaching at Weill Cornell Medical College.
Vita met Nellia in San Diego not too long before moving there. Their friendship started when Nellia took Vita in to stay at her studio while Vita waited for her SD apartment to become available. They were also roomies together for about a year. One of the most creative people, Nellia is always up for good conversation, new music and artsy movies. Although her favorite one will always be the Matrix. :)
Victor is definitely Simon's cousin. They are both knee deep in technology and music. Victor currently tours with his metal band, Deamos, where he is the lead singer and guitarist. Victor graduated from UCSD and works in Information Security. Victor's success has played a role in influencing Simon to stick with the CS major and stay in the tech field.
